Iran Supports Lebanon’s Sovereignty, Eyes Stronger Ties
WANA (Jun 04) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi expressed hope for a new chapter in the historic relations between Tehran and Beirut following his recent visit to Lebanon and expressed Iran’s strong support for Lebanon’s independence, national sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
In an Arabic message posted on X (formerly Twitter), Araghchi wrote: “Our goal and hope is to open a new chapter in the historic relations between the two countries, based on mutual respect and common interests.”
He added that during his meetings with Lebanon’s president, parliament speaker, prime minister, and foreign minister, he reaffirmed Iran’s strong support for Lebanon’s independence, national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and reconstruction efforts amid ongoing Israeli occupation.
