Iran to Facilitate Safe Passage of Humanitarian Shipments Through Strait of Hormuz
WANA (Mar 27) – Iran’s representative to the United Nations in Geneva announced that Tehran will facilitate and expedite the safe passage of humanitarian shipments through the Strait of Hormuz in response to a request from the United Nations.
Ali Bahreini said in a post on X that the Islamic Republic of Iran, acting in good faith and in line with its longstanding humanitarian principles, has decided to assist in ensuring the safe and swift transit of humanitarian cargo through the strategic waterway.
He added that the move reflects Iran’s continued commitment to supporting humanitarian efforts and ensuring that essential aid reaches those in need without delay.
The diplomat noted that operational arrangements for implementing the decision will be finalized with the United Nations at the appropriate time.
He emphasized that Iran remains firmly committed to guaranteeing, maintaining, and safeguarding the security and stability of the strait for all non-hostile countries.
