WANA (Mar 22) – Saghab Esfahani, Iran’s Vice President and head of the Strategic Energy Optimization and Management Organization, commented on U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent 48-hour deadline in a post on X:

“The Strait of Hormuz card has put so much pressure on Donald Trump that he has set a 48-hour deadline, unaware that the next card — the destruction of the most important parts of the electricity and water infrastructure of the Zionist regime and the United States in the region — will put even more pressure on him.”

He added: “Therefore, it is better for residents of the Zionist regime and people in countries hosting Iran’s enemies to store water and charge their mobile phones within these 48 hours.”

Trump had earlier warned: “If Iran doesn’t FULLY OPEN, WITHOUT THREAT, the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours from this exact point in time, the United States of America will hit and obliterate their various power plants, starting with the biggest one first.”

In response, Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf issued a warning, saying any attack on Iran’s infrastructure would trigger an immediate and irreversible response.

He added that such action would lead to the targeting and destruction of critical energy and oil infrastructure across the region. Ghalibaf also used a symbolic expression, stating: “Cast down what is in your hand, and it will swallow what they have made.”

Meanwhile, the hacker group Handala said: “In the coming hours, we will publish all maps of the electricity and water infrastructure of the regime and the region.”
