WANA (Jul 11) – Iran’s acting Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics said the country’s defense industry continued operating throughout the recent war and increased its drone production capacity threefold, describing the achievement as a result of sustained investment in advanced technologies and domestic expertise.

Speaking at a joint meeting with the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Brigadier General Seyed Majid Ibn al-Reza said the recent conflict demonstrated that investment in cutting-edge technologies and Iran’s scientific talent has become the country’s most important source of defense capability.

He said that, despite the intensity of the fighting, Iran’s defense production never stopped and that the country’s drone manufacturing capacity was tripled during the conflict.

The acting defense minister also said Iran faced what he described as some of the world’s most advanced intelligence, military, and psychological warfare capabilities during the recent conflicts. He claimed that more than 150 leading global technology companies supported the United States and Israel by providing them with their latest technological capabilities.

According to Ibn al-Reza, despite the scale and complexity of the battlefield, Iran’s armed forces responded rapidly. He added that the military’s performance during the operation referred to as the “Ramadan War” was more innovative and effective in terms of tactics and operational methods than during the earlier 12-day conflict.

He stressed the need to further strengthen Iran’s defense sector by increasing defense spending, expanding advanced technologies, leveraging the expertise of Iranian specialists both inside and outside the country, and creating more agile mechanisms for acquiring new technologies.

The acting defense minister also said Iran has accurately identified its adversaries’ vulnerabilities and that the country’s armed forces know when, how, and to what extent they can apply pressure if necessary.
