WANA (Jun 21) – A trilateral meeting involving Iran, the United States, and Qatar is currently underway at the negotiation venue, focusing on a comprehensive ceasefire in Lebanon and the issue of Iran’s frozen assets.

According to Clause 1 of the memorandum of understanding, an end to hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon, is among the conditions of the agreement. The clause had reportedly not been implemented until last night, when measures began to take effect simultaneously with the departure of the Iranian negotiating delegation for Switzerland.

The issue of frozen Iranian assets is addressed in Clause 11 of the memorandum. The Iranian delegation has stated that its objective in attending the Switzerland talks is to pursue five provisions of the agreement, including the two issues currently under discussion.
