WANA (Jun 21) – Iran-U.S. negotiations, mediated by Pakistan, are set to begin on Sunday afternoon at the Bürgenstock Hotel in Switzerland.

 

The talks will be held with representatives from Iran and the United States, while Qatar and Pakistan will participate as mediators.

 

According to the scheduled program, the negotiations will start at 4:00 p.m. local time at the Bürgenstock Hotel on the outskirts of Zurich.

 

The Iranian delegation will be headed by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, while the U.S. negotiating team will be led by J.D. Vance.

 

Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and a delegation from Qatar will also attend the negotiations.

 

On Saturday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said the visit is aimed at following up on U.S. commitments under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding regarding the implementation of a ceasefire in Lebanon and the cessation of Israeli attacks on the country.

 

The Iranian delegation, led by Ghalibaf, arrived in Zurich early Sunday and was welcomed by Swiss officials and members of Iran’s embassy in Bern.

 

Accompanying Ghalibaf are Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Deputy for International Affairs at the Secretariat of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Bagheri, Central Bank Governor Abdolnaser Hemmati, Deputy Oil Minister and CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company Hamid Bovard, and Deputy Foreign Ministers Kazem Gharibabadi and Esmaeil Baghaei.
