Iran Urges Dialogue Between Afghanistan and Pakistan to Ease Tensions
WANA (Oct 16) – The spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry expressed satisfaction over the ceasefire between Pakistan and Afghanistan, emphasizing the urgent need for direct dialogue between the two sides to de-escalate tensions, end hostilities, and resolve disputes through diplomacy.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghaei on Thursday, October 16, underscored the importance of immediate talks between Islamabad and Kabul, stressing that diplomacy is the only path toward stability and lasting peace.
He also highlighted the importance of mutual respect for territorial integrity and national sovereignty, reiterating Iran’s readiness to assist in maintaining calm and reducing tensions between the two neighboring Muslim countries.
Baghaei further expressed deep regret and concern over the suffering of civilians affected by recent clashes, calling for stronger regional and multilateral cooperation to prevent and combat terrorism.
