Iran: Violation of the Ceasefire on Any Front Constitutes a Violation Across All Fronts
WANA (Jun 01) – Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a statement accusing the United States and Israel of repeatedly violating the ceasefire agreement, stressing that any breach on one front should be regarded as a breach of the entire agreement. The ministry also stated that Iran reserves the right to defend its interests under the principle of self-defense.
In the statement released on Monday evening, June 1, the ministry referred to the ceasefire agreement reached on April 8, 2026, which, according to Tehran, brought an end to hostilities involving the United States, Israel, and Iran across all fronts, including Lebanon.
The ministry claimed that since the ceasefire came into effect, the United States has repeatedly violated its terms, including through what it described as ongoing actions against Iranian commercial shipping.
The statement also accused Israel of breaching the ceasefire by carrying out actions that violate Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. According to the ministry, these actions have resulted in civilian casualties, large-scale displacement, and extensive damage to infrastructure and residential areas.
“The violation of the ceasefire on any front constitutes a violation of the ceasefire on all fronts,” the statement said.
The ministry further argued that despite Washington’s initial efforts following the ceasefire announcement to restrain Israel’s military actions in Lebanon, the United States bears direct responsibility both for its own alleged violations against Iran and for Israel’s actions in Lebanon.
Concluding the statement, Iran warned of the potential consequences that continued ceasefire violations could have for regional peace and security. The ministry reiterated that the Islamic Republic would use all available means, in accordance with its inherent right to self-defense under international law, to protect its interests wherever it deems necessary.
