WANA (Mar 22) – The spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said immediate retaliatory measures would be taken if the United States follows through on its threats against Iran’s power plants.

Referring to recent remarks by the US president, the spokesperson said Washington had threatened to target Iranian power facilities if Iran does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

He said Iran had repeatedly stated that the Strait of Hormuz is only restricted to hostile or harmful traffic and has not been fully closed. According to him, the waterway remains under Iran’s “smart control,” while harmless transit continues under specific regulations that serve the country’s security and national interests.

The spokesperson said that if the US carries out its threats against Iran’s power plants, punitive measures would be implemented immediately.

He said the first step would be the full closure of the Strait of Hormuz, adding that it would remain closed until Iran’s damaged power plants are rebuilt.

He also said that all power plants, energy infrastructure, and information and communications technology (ICT) facilities in Israel would be targeted on a large scale.

In addition, he said all similar companies in the region with American shareholders would be completely destroyed.

He added that power plants in regional countries hosting US military bases would also become legitimate targets.

The spokesperson further said that everything is prepared for a “major jihad” aimed at completely destroying all US economic interests in West Asia.

He stressed that Iran did not start the war and would not be the one to start it now, but said that if the country’s power plants are attacked, Iran would do whatever is necessary to defend the nation and its people’s interests, and that operations against the announced targets would begin without interruption.
