Iran Warns of Retaliation Against Regional Energy Infrastructure
WANA (Mar 12) – Iran has warned that any attack on its energy facilities or ports would trigger a sweeping retaliatory response targeting oil and gas infrastructure across the region.
The spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said that even the smallest strike on the Islamic Republic’s energy infrastructure or ports would be met with a “powerful and devastating response.”
In a statement, the spokesperson warned the “aggressor government and all of its allies” that any such attack would lead to the destruction of regional oil and gas infrastructure in which the United States and its Western partners have interests.
“Should such aggression occur, all oil and gas infrastructure in the region linked to the United States and its Western allies will be set ablaze and destroyed,” the statement said.
