WANA (Mar 11) – The senior spokesperson for Iran’s armed forces has warned that any U.S. action against Iranian ports could lead to retaliatory strikes on targets across the Persian Gulf.

Abolfazl Shekarchi made the remarks during a live interview, referring to recent military operations conducted by Iran’s armed forces.

He said the “consecutive, powerful and enemy-breaking operations” carried out by Iranian forces had been successful and claimed that heavy damage was inflicted on the United States during the previous night.

According to him, American bases in the region and “occupied territories” suffered casualties and significant damage.

Shekarchi also addressed statements attributed to United States Central Command (CENTCOM), which he said had threatened Iran and claimed that naval vessels belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy had been confined or trapped at docks and economic ports inside Iran.

He rejected the claim, saying it was “completely false and a lie,” and stressed that Iran’s naval forces — including both the Revolutionary Guard Navy and the navy of the Iranian army — are fully capable and operational.

The spokesperson added that Iran’s armed forces remain ready and, if necessary, would carry out operations “even heavier than those conducted so far.”

He also called on neighboring countries to stop assisting the United States and to expel American forces from their territories so that their national resources do not become bases for the U.S. military.

Shekarchi emphasized that Iran respects the sovereignty of other countries and the interests of Muslim nations, but warned that some areas in the region are increasingly being turned into American military bases.

“We have shown restraint so far,” he said. “But if U.S. threats against Iran’s ports are implemented, then no port, economic center, or location in the Persian Gulf will be beyond our reach and they will be considered legitimate targets.”
