WANA (Sep 07) – Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has warned that any operational participation or foreign military deployment in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz will be viewed as direct support for American aggression against the Iranian people.

In a post published in Korean on X (formerly Twitter), Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei addressed the decades-long diplomatic ties between Tehran and Seoul while cautioning against involvement in regional maritime initiatives led by Washington.

“Iran and South Korea share over 64 years of bilateral relations built on mutual respect, and Iran places high value on these friendly ties,” Baghaei stated.

“However, at a time when the Iranian nation is defending itself against aggression and responding decisively to war crimes against women and children, any operational involvement or military presence by third parties in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz constitutes direct support for the aggressor and will carry severe consequences.”

Baghaei added that “no sovereign or responsible government surrenders to U.S. pressure and extortion to become complicit in aggressive actions in the region.”
