WANA (Apr 05) – Seyed Javad Hosseini, head of Iran’s State Welfare Organization, said that 27 residential care centers were damaged following recent incidents, and around 24,000 people were relocated to safer areas through emergency measures.
Hosseini highlighted the scale of the country’s support network, noting that more than 5,200 round-the-clock centers are currently responsible for caring for children, adolescents, people with disabilities, the elderly, and psychiatric patients. He added that some of these facilities are located near areas at risk.
According to him, 27 centers sustained damage during the attacks.
He further said that about 180 centers were relocated to safer areas, resulting in the transfer of approximately 24,000 residents. In addition, 22,000 individuals were returned to family care with the cooperation of the judiciary under a family-based approach.
Hosseini also addressed rehabilitation services, stating that centers continue to provide both residential and daytime care for people with disabilities. To enhance safety, remote rehabilitation services have been made available for around 1,000 centers.
He added that the supply of medicine, food, and essential provisions to these facilities is continuing without disruption.
