WANA (Jun 18) – The Islamic Republic of Iran has warned the United States that any direct involvement by Washington in Israeli military actions against Iran will be met with a decisive response.

Ali Bahreini, Iran’s representative to the United Nations in Geneva, said on Wednesday that Tehran has informed Washington it will respond firmly if the United States directly engages in Israeli military operations against Iran.

Speaking to reporters, Bahreini emphasized, “Iran sees the United States as complicit in Israel’s actions.” Without specifying what actions would trigger a response, he stated that the Islamic Republic has set a red line and will react decisively if the U.S. crosses it.

Early Friday morning, Israel launched airstrikes on Iran after claiming that Tehran was on the verge of developing a nuclear weapon — strikes that have already prompted Iranian retaliation.

Bahreini also described recent remarks by former U.S. President Donald Trump as “completely baseless and deeply hostile,” adding, “We cannot ignore them. We are closely monitoring what Trump says and will factor it into our calculations and assessments.”

He continued, “I am confident that Iran will deliver a strong, appropriate, and proportionate response. We are closely monitoring the extent of U.S. involvement and will respond whenever necessary.”

Trump recently stated that he is not merely seeking a ceasefire but is demanding Iran’s unconditional surrender.

Three U.S. officials have said that, so far, the United States has only taken indirect actions — including assisting in intercepting Iranian missiles launched toward Israel. Washington is also deploying additional fighter jets to the Middle East and expanding its military presence in the region.
