WANA (Jul 14) – Iran’s Minister of Education announced that the country’s chemistry team has secured four silver medals at the 57th International Chemistry Olympiad, currently taking place in the United Arab Emirates.

 

In a televised interview on Sunday, Minister Alireza Kazemi said the Iranian team now ranks among the top 10 countries worldwide. The medal-winning students are Sina Ahani, Seyed Taha Hosseini, Seyed Amirhossein Taheri, and Mohammad Keyfari Alemdari.

 

Kazemi also noted that the 66th International Mathematical Olympiad is underway in Australia. Prior to that, a pre-competition event was held in China—a tradition now in its third year.

 

In this pre-Olympiad, Iran achieved notable success, winning one gold, four silver, and one bronze medal, placing second among 32 participating countries.
