WANA (Oct 26) – Iranian athlete Baran Jani captured the gold medal in the girls’ Muay Thai competition at the 2025 Asian Youth Games in Bahrain.

 

Competing in the under-40 kg category for ages 14–15, Jani defeated Napida Kanyaburi of Thailand in a closely contested final, winning by a total score of 29–28.

 

Earlier in the tournament, the young Iranian fighter secured a victory over her Jordanian opponent to advance to the final bout.

 

Abolfazl Hajivand, Iran’s representative in the boys’ -45 kg Muay Thai category, was defeated in the final with a score of 30–27 and earned the silver medal.

 

Rojan Behnami, in the 48 kg category for 15-year-olds, also defeated her Vietnamese opponent 30–27, securing the second gold medal for Iran’s Muay Thai team.
