WANA (Jul 10) – Iran’s national mathematics olympiad team, competing under the name Minab School, was sent to international olympiad competitions and has now secured first place at the Fourth International Mathematics Competition of China (IMSC 2026), held in Beijing.

 

The Iranian team claimed the overall team championship, finishing ahead of teams from Poland and Brazil in the international training and competition event.

 

The achievement follows Iran’s performance at the 66th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) 2025 in Australia, where Iranian students won two gold medals, three silver medals, and one bronze medal. The 67th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) 2026 is scheduled to be held in Shanghai.

 

Iran’s team, consisting of Aryan Zandi, Arsha Azizoddin, Seyed Amirhossein Tayeb, Alireza Sharifi, Radin Nik Eghbali, and Ali Joonbakhsh Najafabadi, won four gold medals and two silver medals while competing against 49 teams from various countries.
