WANA (Oct 23) – Iran’s U23 national Greco-Roman wrestling team secured the world championship title at the U23 World Championships in Serbia.

At the conclusion of the first eight weight categories, Iran captured three gold medals and one bronze, earning a total of 108 points to take the top spot in the standings. Azerbaijan and Ukraine followed with 81 and 76 points, respectively.

In the remaining two weight classes, Iran still has one finalist and one wrestler in the repechage round, while Azerbaijan and Ukraine each have a similar number of competitors remaining.

With its current lead, Iran has already guaranteed the team championship, regardless of the final results in the last two categories, marking a dominant performance at this year’s world event in Serbia.
