Iran Women’s Volleyball Team Crowned CAVA Champions
WANA (May 29) – The Iranian women’s national volleyball team captured the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Championship title on Friday following a decisive victory over Kazakhstan in the tournament final.
Under the guidance of head coach Lee Do-hee, the Iranian squad secured a 3-1 victory (25-18, 19-25, 25-15, 25-21) to claim the gold medal.
The championship victory caps an undefeated tournament run for Team Iran, which secured five consecutive wins against Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Kazakhstan (twice) en route to the title.
The championship roster featured Shabnam Alikhani, Sepinoud Dast Barjan, Reyhaneh Karimi, Elaheh Pour-Saleh, Zahra Karimi, Fatemeh Khalili, Zahra Salehi, Masoumeh Ghadami, Seyedeh Negar Hashemi, Hasti Vahedi, Negar Abbasi, Aida Valinejad, Yasna Ahankoub, and Shaghayegh Hassankhani.
The team’s technical and administrative staff included team manager Mojgan Hassanzadeh, head coach Lee Do-hee, assistant coaches Sargol Alizadeh and Fatemeh Hasani Saadi, physiotherapist Negar Aghaei, translator Maedeh Hamedi, and data analyst Zahra Yalghi.
