Iranian AI Startup Among Top 20 Global Innovators
WANA (Oct 04) – A knowledge-based company from Sharif University of Technology’s Science and Technology Park has been ranked among the world’s top 20 startups in artificial intelligence applications, according to the Oil & Gas Trend Report 2025 published by StartUs Insight.
The company, supported by Iran’s Vice Presidency for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy and Sharif University’s Industry Liaison Office, was selected from a pool of nearly 8,500 startups worldwide.
Active in artificial intelligence and machine learning, the startup was highlighted as a model company for applying data-driven solutions to complex industrial challenges. Its recognition reflects growing international acknowledgment of Iran’s technological capabilities.
Founded in 2020, the company’s work extends beyond oil and gas, covering four major sectors: sports and health, water, energy, and oil and gas. It is currently engaged in several large-scale projects in industrial monitoring and AI-driven solutions across multiple fields.
Through its innovation hub “Hamta” at the Sharif Innovation District, the company has advanced AI applications in professional and public sports as well as healthcare technologies, demonstrating its comprehensive approach to data mining and artificial intelligence.
Operating under the name Data Intelligent Narghan (Datal), the firm employs over 80 specialists at Sharif University’s Research Institute for Energy, Water, and Environment. Many of its experts are Sharif alumni, while its founders and senior executives also include graduates of top international universities such as Stanford.
Being named among the Top 20 Global Startups by StartUs Insight not only strengthens the company’s international standing but also paves the way for Iran to expand its AI footprint in global markets, attract investment, and foster international technological cooperation.
