WANA (Nov 09) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi held a telephone conversation on Sunday morning with Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Foreign Minister of Afghanistan, to discuss bilateral cooperation, the recent tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan, and the ongoing dialogue between the two neighboring countries.

 

During the call, the Iranian Foreign Minister expressed concern over the continuation of tensions between the two Muslim neighbors and reaffirmed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s readiness to offer any assistance or consultation aimed at reducing tensions and promoting peace and stability between them.

 

The Afghan Foreign Minister, while thanking the Islamic Republic of Iran for its goodwill, briefed his Iranian counterpart on the latest developments and outcomes of the talks between Kabul and Islamabad, emphasizing Afghanistan’s commitment to maintaining the ceasefire and resolving issues through diplomacy and dialogue.

 

The two ministers also discussed the importance of cooperation and engagement regarding Iran’s water rights.
