WANA (Apr 08) – Foreign Minister of Iran, Abbas Araghchi, held a phone conversation on Wednesday with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan.

Araghchi thanked Turkey for its diplomatic efforts toward peace and briefed Fidan on the latest developments regarding ceasefire negotiations.

He stated that Iran has adopted a “responsible approach” and is prepared to accept a ceasefire as a step toward ending the war, adding that progress depends on the seriousness of the U.S. side and a framework based on Iran’s proposed ten-point plan.

Fidan, in turn, expressed appreciation for Iran’s diplomatic efforts and reaffirmed Turkey’s support for continued diplomacy to fully end the conflict. He also stressed the need for effective mechanisms to ensure lasting stability and security.

The Turkish foreign minister warned about what he described as Israel’s destabilizing role and urged all parties to remain vigilant against efforts to undermine the agreement process.

Araghchi welcomed regional cooperation initiatives and emphasized the importance of collective awareness among regional countries to prevent instability and division.
