WANA (Jan 04) –  Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Yván Gil Pinto, Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, held a phone call to discuss the latest developments following the U.S. military aggression against Venezuela.

During the call, Iran’s foreign minister strongly condemned the U.S. military action against Venezuela and the abduction of its legally elected president and his spouse, describing the move as a clear example of state terrorism and a blatant violation of Venezuela’s sovereignty and the national will of its people. He reaffirmed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s support for the Venezuelan government and people.

In response, Venezuela’s foreign minister expressed appreciation for Iran’s principled stance and solidarity with Caracas, emphasising that the Venezuelan people and government are determined to defend their national sovereignty and right to self-determination against the unlawful and bullying policies of the United States.
