Iranian Army Announces Drone Strike on U.S. Fifth Fleet in Bahrain
WANA (Jun 11) – The Iranian Army announced in a statement that it had launched a drone operation against the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet based in Bahrain, in response to the violation of the ceasefire and U.S. military attacks on areas in southern Iran.
According to the statement, Iranian military units carried out the operation using various types of suicide and strike drones, targeting facilities associated with the U.S. Fifth Fleet.
The army claimed that communication antennas and radar installations linked to the Patriot air defense system deployed with the fleet were among the targets hit during the attack.
The statement described the operation as a response to recent U.S. strikes on southern regions of the country and stressed that the Iranian armed forces, alongside other military branches, remain fully prepared to continue confronting what it called an “aggressor enemy.”
The Iranian Army further stated that it would continue its operations until it considers the response to the alleged aggression complete and its objectives achieved.
