WANA (Mar 17) – The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army launched drone attacks early Wednesday targeting key technological, cyber, and defense-industrial centers in Israel, in retaliation for the killing of Iranian personnel aboard the naval destroyer Dena, Iranian officials reported.

According to an official statement (No. 31) from the Army’s Public Relations Office, the strikes were carried out in response to what Iran described as Israeli aggression against its defense and security centers and civilian casualties.

The operations specifically targeted cyber-technology centers and weapons manufacturing complexes belonging to Rafael, Israel’s major defense industry.

The statement claimed that Israeli cyber-technology centers provide the occupation regime’s “terrorist army” with offensive software, hardware, and AI-based technologies used to target gatherings of civilians in Iran.

Rafael’s facilities were also highlighted as responsible for developing weapons of mass destruction systems, advanced defense systems like the Iron Dome, and equipping Israeli drone centers.

The Iranian Army confirmed that the drone operations are ongoing.
