Iranian Army Drone Strikes on Key Israeli Airbases and Shin Bet Headquarters
WANA (Mar 12) – The Iranian Army has announced that several Israeli military and security facilities were targeted in a recent drone operation.
In statement No. 24, the army said that in the past few hours Iranian forces carried out attacks using loitering drones against the control tower, runway, and aircraft hangars at the Palmachim and Ovda airbases, as well as the headquarters of Israel’s Shin Bet security agency.
According to the statement, Palmachim Airbase, located near Tel Aviv, serves as a major center for satellite launches and missile testing. The base is also said to host missile defense systems such as David’s Sling and Hermes 900 drones.
The statement added that Ovda Airbase is considered one of Israel’s strategic facilities and functions as a training base for the Israeli Air Force. It has reportedly hosted U.S. F-22 fighter jets in the past.
The Iranian Army also described Shin Bet as the operational core of Israel’s internal security apparatus, responsible for directing security operations and coordinating protection for senior officials and critical infrastructure.
