Iranian Army Launches Drone Strikes on Energy and Military Targets in Israel and Kuwait
WANA (Apr 05) – The Iranian Army announced in Statement No. 56 that it carried out drone strikes early Saturday in response to U.S. and Israeli actions against Iran.
According to the statement, the operation targeted petrochemical industries and oil storage facilities in southern parts of Israel near Dimona, as well as equipment depots, satellite communication units, and command centers of U.S. forces at a military base on Bubiyan Island.
The army said the targeted petrochemical facilities and underground emergency fuel reserves are considered critical to Israel’s energy supply.
It also described the U.S. base on Bubiyan Island as a key regional hub supporting American operations in West Asia.
The statement added that the targeted depots contained ammunition, offensive missile systems such as HIMARS, and communications and surveillance infrastructure used by U.S. forces.
It further noted that the base had been developed after damage to Camp Arifjan in Kuwait, where U.S. forces had established new satellite, monitoring, and command units.
The Iranian Army said the strikes followed previous successes by the country’s integrated air defense network in intercepting hostile aircraft.
In the statement, the army expressed gratitude to what it described as the “steadfast and patriotic Iranian nation,” and dedicated the operation to members of the armed forces—including the army, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), and law enforcement units—as well as to tribal fighters from Iran’s Lur communities.
