Iranian Army Launches Missile Strike on U.S.-Linked Positions at Erbil Airport
WANA (Mar 24) – The Iranian Army announced that it carried out a missile strike targeting positions associated with U.S. forces at Erbil International Airport earlier today.
In an official statement (No. 42), the army’s public relations office said the attack was part of its ongoing military operations. It stated that ground-to-ground missiles were used to target assembly points of U.S. forces as well as separatist groups allegedly supported by Israel.
According to the statement, the targeted area within Erbil Airport is considered a major hub for logistical support and operational command for U.S. forces, reportedly containing a wide range of military equipment and systems.
The Iranian military also claimed that the site serves as a base for separatist groups it accuses of contributing to instability along Iran’s western and northwestern borders.
