Iranian Army Launches Phase 15 of ‘Operation Saeghe’
WANA (Jul 18) – The Public Relations Department of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army has announced the launch of Phase 15 of “Operation Saegheh”, executing widespread drone strikes against strategic U.S. military positions and infrastructure within Bahrain.
According to an official military statement issued hours ago, the operation was carried out in direct retaliation for the actions of “global arrogance” and to honor the memory of the country’s fallen soldiers, particularly the recent “martyrs” of Iran’s southern coastal regions.
Precision Drone Strikes Hit Critical Assets at Sheikh Isa Air Base
The Iranian Army reported that its one-way attack (suicide) drones successfully infiltrated airspace over Bahrain, hitting multiple high-value targets assigned to what Tehran designates as the “terrorist U.S. military.”
The specific targets struck during the operation include:
- Aircraft Hangars and Tarmac Areas: Neutralizing parked aviation assets.
- Fuel Storage Facilities: Directly impacting logistical and refueling capabilities.
- Logistical Infrastructure: Striking several key connecting bridges inside Bahrain utilized for transport and logistics.
The Strategic Importance of the Targeted Facility
The military statement highlighted the strategic significance of the targeted installation, noting that the Sheikh Isa Air Base in southern Bahrain serves as one of the most vital operational and logistical hubs for both the U.S. Air Force and Navy.
Because the facility houses critical infrastructure and sensitive military hardware, Iran’s armed forces view the base as a primary launchpad and operational anchor for American military actions aimed at regional targets, specifically against Iran.
Army Reiterates Unwavering Commitment to National Defense
Concluding its statement, the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran issued a message of solidarity to the domestic population, praising the historical and ongoing resilience of the country’s southern regions.
“The proud South of Iran represents a vital chapter in the defense and endurance of the brave people of this region during the eight years of the Imposed War, as well as their resilience today against the crimes of a malicious enemy,” the statement read.
The Army added: “We pledge our lives to these brave people and the entirety of the great Iranian nation, and we take immense pride in our soldierly duty to defend this land.”
