Iranian Army Spokesperson Warns of Opening New Fronts if Hostilities Resume
WANA (May 19) – The spokesperson for the Iranian Army stated that Iran’s armed forces are fully prepared to respond to any new threats, warning that new fronts would be opened against adversaries if hostile actions against Iran are repeated.
Brigadier General Mohammad Akrami-Nia said public gatherings held across the country in recent nights played a significant role in thwarting what he described as enemy plans, while also boosting the morale and motivation of Iran’s armed forces.
He claimed that attempts by Iran’s adversaries to undermine the country’s political and military structure had failed, adding that public mobilization had strengthened Iran’s defensive capabilities.
The army spokesperson also said that Iran’s armed forces have treated the current ceasefire period as a continuation of wartime conditions and have used the opportunity to reinforce their combat readiness.
Warning against any renewed military action targeting Iran, Akrami-Nia stated that the Islamic Republic would respond with “new tools and methods” and open new fronts against any aggressors in the event of another attack.
Referring to the Strait of Hormuz, he emphasized that Iran’s armed forces maintain full control and oversight over the strategic waterway, adding that the situation there “will not return to its previous state.” He also said that respecting Iran’s rights is the only way to prevent further escalation.
