Suhail Khan, SCO Deputy Secretary-General, highlighted in his remarks that museum cooperation strengthens people-to-people ties and builds trust and friendship, making it an integral part of the SCO’s human exchanges. He noted that the exhibition reflects the outcomes of the 2022 Samarkand summit, where a memorandum of understanding on museum cooperation was signed.

The exhibition features over 220 ancient artifacts, presenting the rich histories, cultures, and spiritual legacies of SCO nations. Among them are iconic pieces tracing the origins, development, and interaction of civilizations, as well as items showcasing cross-cultural exchanges throughout history.

Organized by China’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the exhibition will run at the National Museum of China until November 16, 2025.

According to Wang Zhiqiang, a researcher at the National Museum of China, the displayed works not only reflect the cultural wealth of SCO members—including Belarus, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan—but also illustrate the long history of cultural dialogue, mutual learning, and exchange along the ancient Silk Road.
