Iranian Cinema Shines at Kazan Film Festival
WANA (Sep 10) – Iranian films, with powerful narratives and remarkable quality, stood out at the “Altyn Minbar” Kazan International Film Festival, earning multiple awards from the festival’s jury.
According to the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kazan, the NETPAC Jury Special Award went to Almond Eyes directed by Ebrahim Amini.
Other awards included Best Short Film for Apatrid produced by Mohammad Goodarzi, Best Director of a Feature Film for Ebrahim Amini (Almond Eyes), Best Documentary for The Season That Was Missed by Mehdi Ghanoati, and the Special Award of the “Strategic Vision: Russia – Islamic World” section for For Rana directed by Iman Yazdi.
The Altyn Minbar International Film Festival—formerly known as the Muslim Film Festival—is held annually in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, with the main goal of showcasing the cinema of Islamic and Asian countries.
The success of Iranian cinema at this event once again highlighted the creativity and capabilities of Iranian filmmakers on the international stage.
