WANA (May 25) – A delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran, led by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, traveled to Doha today.

This visit is a continuation of the diplomatic process that began several weeks ago with Pakistani mediation to bring an end to the recent war, and which remains ongoing.

Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi have traveled to Qatar for this mission.

During the visit, consultations will be held with senior Qatari officials regarding certain aspects related to the negotiations for ending the 40-day war.

News sources reported that the Iranian delegation’s talks with Qatari officials will mainly focus on the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s highly enriched uranium.

Prior to this, the Governor of the Central Bank of Iran, Abdolnasser Hemmati, departed for Qatar today to lead economic commission talks aimed at unfreezing billions of dollars in blocked Iranian financial reserves.

The high-level visit follows a trip by a Qatari delegation to Tehran last week, which focused on Doha’s expanding mediation role between Iran and the United States amid ongoing efforts to wind down the recent regional conflict.
