WANA (Oct 05) – The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has announced the appointment of Iranian referees to officiate in the upcoming AFC Women’s Champions League 2025–2026.

 

According to the AFC, Mahnaz Zakaei has been selected as a referee and Bahareh Seifi Nahavandi as an assistant referee for Group A matches, which will be hosted by Vietnam from November 13 to 19, 2025, in Ho Chi Minh City.

 

In addition to the AFC appointment, the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) had previously announced that two other Iranian referees will officiate in the first-ever Women’s Futsal World Cup.

 

The inaugural tournament will take place from November 21 to December 7, 2025, in the Philippine cities of Manila and Negros, featuring 16 teams.

 

According to FIFA, Zari Fathi and Gelareh Nazemi from Iran have been chosen to referee matches during this global event, marking another significant presence of Iranian women referees on the international stage across multiple sports.
