Iranian Firm Produces Innovative Nano Cast
WANA (Sep 30) – An Iranian knowledge-based company has successfully developed an innovative medical cast using nanotechnology. The product, which is waterproof, hypoallergenic, and allows skin visibility during treatment, is set to be offered at a fraction of the cost of foreign models.
Parisa Ganjineh, CEO of the company, announced the production of these new medical casts, highlighting their advantages over traditional plaster casts. “These casts are waterproof, anti-allergy, and anti-itch. Patients can observe their skin throughout the treatment period,” she explained.
Enabling Physiotherapy During Treatment
Ganjineh added that in case of complications, patients can report to their doctors, and even undergo physiotherapy while wearing the cast. “The use of nanotechnology in this product improves its strength and enhances its properties,” she said.
First and Only Nano-Cast Producer in Iran
The CEO noted that her company is the first and only domestic producer of this type of nano-based cast in Iran. “Localizing this technology has allowed us to bring the product to market at a competitive price. We managed to reduce its cost to about one-tenth of comparable American products,” she stated.
Additional Benefits
According to Ganjineh, the new cast allows patients to see and even scratch their skin, eliminating many of the limitations of traditional casts.
She went on to say: “With the technical expertise of our team, consisting of nanotechnology and chemistry specialists, we were able to achieve the technology required for producing nano-casts. However, the product has not yet entered the market and is currently in the licensing stage.”
Awaiting Market Approval
“The main limitation at the moment is obtaining the necessary permits for commercialization. We hope that with the required support, this obstacle will be removed,” Ganjineh concluded.
