WANA (Jun 24) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi held a phone call with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to discuss recent regional developments following U.S. and Israeli aggression against Iran.

 

Araghchi reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to strong ties with Qatar and stressed that the recent missile strike on the U.S. Al Udeid base was a legitimate act of self-defense and not aimed at Qatar.

 

He thanked Qatari officials for condemning recent hostilities and praised Qatar’s constructive role in promoting regional stability.

 

In response, the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to playing a constructive role in safeguarding regional peace and stability.

 

Last night, Iran targeted the Al Udeid airbase, the headquarters of U.S. air operations in Qatar, with six missiles.

 

The Islamic Republic of Iran reiterated that it will not leave any violation of its territory unanswered, and warned that any repetition of aggression will receive a strong response.
