Iranian FM Araghchi Meets with Pakistan’s Army Chief
WANA (Apr 25) – Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met and held talks with Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, on Saturday morning.
During this meeting, discussions and exchanges of views were held regarding the latest developments related to the ceasefire and the termination of the war imposed by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran, as well as cooperation to strengthen peace and stability in the West Asia region.
Araghchi expressed appreciation for the “good offices” and valuable efforts of the Pakistani government, particularly Asim Munir, toward establishing a ceasefire and ending the war, while further explaining the country’s views and considerations in this regard.
Asim Munir, while thanking Iran for its trust in Pakistan as a neighboring and Muslim country to help advance the diplomatic process, announced Pakistan’s readiness to continue its mediation efforts until a result is achieved.
Esmaeil Baghaei, the spokesperson, and Kazem Gharibabadi, the Deputy for Legal and International Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, are accompanying Araghchi on this trip..
The Iranian Foreign Minister arrived in Islamabad on Friday evening as part of a regional tour. He is also scheduled to visit Moscow and Muscat.
