WANA (Jul 09) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi held a phone call Thursday evening with Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, to discuss the latest regional developments.

During the call, Araghchi strongly condemned the recent U.S. military strikes on various parts of Iran, describing them as a clear violation of the UN Charter and of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding on ending the war.

He said statements by U.S. officials acknowledging they would not adhere to the memorandum demonstrated Washington’s breach of its commitments and continuation of what he described as its war-driven policies.

The Iranian foreign minister also warned against any further U.S. military action and reaffirmed Iran’s determination to defend its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national security.

Separately, Araghchi held telephone conversations with the foreign ministers of Oman and Türkiye. The talks focused on the latest regional developments, particularly recent events in the Strait of Hormuz and other issues of mutual concern.

The parties stressed the importance of utilizing diplomatic channels, maintaining consultations and coordination, and working to prevent further escalation in the region.

Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, also held talks with Prince Faisal bin Farhan, the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, regarding the latest regional developments following the United States’ aggressive actions.
