Araghchi Meets with Tajik Counterpart in Dushanbe
WANA (Jul 30) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi held talks with Sirojiddin Muhriddin, the Foreign Minister of Tajikistan, during an official visit to Dushanbe.
Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, met with his Tajik counterpart Sirojiddin Muhriddin in Dushanbe today as part of a diplomatic visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.
Araghchi, who is leading a high-level delegation to Tajikistan, held talks with Muhriddin on a wide range of issues. The two sides reviewed the current state of bilateral relations in various sectors, including politics, economy, trade, culture, science and academia, tourism, and consular affairs.
They also discussed practical steps to enhance cooperation, promote private sector engagement, and facilitate people-to-people exchanges.

Regional developments, particularly in West Asia and Afghanistan, were also discussed. Araqchi expressed appreciation for Tajikistan’s principled stance in condemning military aggression against Iran.
He stressed the urgent need for a decisive international and Islamic response to stop Israel’s ongoing violations, especially its actions in the occupied Palestinian territories, which he described as systematic genocide and breaches of international law.
Minister Muhriddin welcomed the shared commitment of the two countries’ leaders to deepen bilateral ties and affirmed Tajikistan’s readiness to expand economic and trade relations.
The meeting also included discussions on international cooperation, with both ministers agreeing to strengthen coordination at the United Nations and other international bodies.
They underscored the importance of safeguarding their shared civilizational, linguistic, and cultural heritage and pledged mutual support for each other’s positions on global platforms.
Araghchi departed Tehran early Wednesday morning, July 30, bound for the Tajik capital, Dushanbe. He was seen off by Zohidov Nizomiddin, Tajikistan’s ambassador to Iran.
