WANA (Aug 13) – Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi lashed out at Western nations on social media, accusing France and its allies of double standards regarding international law and human rights.

 

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Tehran’s top diplomat specifically singled out Paris, rejecting its standing to counsel other nations on global norms.

 

“Countries like France should stop lecturing the world about ‘human rights’ and international law,” Araghchi wrote. “The hypocrisy is blatant and embarrassing.”

 

Araghchi pointed to Western foreign policy in the Middle East as the primary cause for what he described as a loss of global credibility.

 

“Your backing of Israel’s genocide in Gaza—and aggression against Iran—has destroyed whatever moral high ground you imagined you had,” the Foreign Minister added.
