WANA (Jul 15) – Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Esmaeil Baghaei, has asserted that no Iranian official will hesitate to defend the nation, warning that any aggression against Iranian territory will face a guaranteed military response.

 

Speaking on the country’s diplomatic and military stance, Baghaei emphasized the principle of reciprocity in international agreements.

 

“Commitment for commitment means we only honor our obligations as long as the other party remains bound to theirs,” Baghaei said. “In the event of a breach by the opposing side, we have conversely withheld our own commitments wherever necessary.”

 

The spokesman stated that this principle would continue to guide Iran’s foreign policy moving forward, noting that the unnamed opposing party had acted in bad faith from the very outset of their agreements.

 

“Under these circumstances, our hands are not tied,” Baghaei added. “Our combatants will powerfully and decisively respond to American aggression, and we will take necessary reciprocal action regarding any other mutual commitments.”

 

Focus on National Defense

Reiterating Iran’s defense posture, Baghaei stressed that the country’s leadership stands united in its resolve to protect national sovereignty.

 

“No responsible official hesitates when it comes to defending the country,” Baghaei declared. “The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran have proven that any aggression against Iranian soil will absolutely be met with a reciprocal response.”

 

When asked about the status of ongoing diplomatic negotiations, the spokesperson concluded: “For now, our focus is entirely on defense.”
