Iranian Foreign Minister Heads to Moscow, Set to Meet Putin
WANA (Apr 26) – Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, has departed for Russia at the head of a diplomatic delegation as part of ongoing consultations.
According to official sources, the foreign minister is scheduled to meet with senior Russian officials to discuss bilateral relations between Iran and Russia, as well as regional and international developments.
The Kremlin announced Sunday night that Vladimir Putin will meet Araghchi on Monday in Moscow.
Earlier, Kazem Jalali, Iran’s ambassador to Moscow, had confirmed that the foreign minister would hold talks with Putin during the visit.
Jalali stated that Araghchi will brief Russian officials on the latest status of negotiations, ceasefire efforts, and related developments during his trip.
He also noted that three phone conversations have recently taken place between Masoud Pezeshkian and Putin, during which bilateral issues and ongoing developments were discussed.
