Iranian Foreign Minister to Visit Tunisia
WANA (Sep 09) – According to the official schedule, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi will arrive in Tunisia on Tuesday evening, September 9, leading a diplomatic delegation.
On Wednesday, September 10, Araghchi is set to hold talks with Tunisia’s Foreign Minister and President. He may also take part in a press conference with local and international journalists during the visit.
The trip to Tunisia comes as part of Araghchi’s broader regional tour aimed at discussing bilateral relations and recent regional developments—particularly the situation in Palestine and efforts to halt the Israeli regime’s ongoing attacks in Gaza.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Iranian foreign minister traveled to Cairo for meetings with Egypt’s President and Foreign Minister, as well as with Rafael Grossi, Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). Following those talks, he will continue to Tunisia later tonight.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei also announced on social media platform X that Foreign Minister Dr. Abbas Araghchi has arrived in Cairo for an official visit to Egypt.
Baghaei stated that Araghchi is scheduled to hold talks with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty, as well as Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
He added that Araghchi will also meet with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to discuss Iran–IAEA interactions under the new circumstances created by what he described as “illegal attacks by the U.S. and the Zionist regime,” within the framework of Iran’s parliamentary legislation dated June 24, 2025.
