Iranian Foreign Minister’s Visit to China
WANA (Jul 13) – Esmail Baghai, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced that Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, will travel to China.
According to Baghai, the visit is taking place at the official invitation of Wang Yi, China’s Foreign Minister. Araghchi will leave for China on Monday to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry stated that during this trip, in addition to participating in the meeting and outlining the positions and views of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Foreign Minister will hold talks with his Chinese counterpart as well as with a number of foreign ministers from member and invited countries.
The main agenda of this foreign ministers’ meeting has been announced as coordinating and preparing for the upcoming SCO Summit.
