WANA (Nov 21) – Iran’s representative at the 2025 Asian Youth Chess Championships has secured the runner-up position.

 

Esma Hasanpour-Moghadam, Iran’s representative in the under-10 category, won the silver medal today and stepped onto the podium in Bangkok.

 

In the rapid section, Iran earned one gold medal and two silvers. Kiyasha Mahboubi, in the under-8 boys’ category, won Iran’s first rapid gold medal of the event.

 

Esma Hasanpour-Moghadam claimed the silver medal in the under-10 girls’ category, and Ramtin Kakavand, in the under-12 boys’ category, finished second after a draw in the final round, earning a silver medal.

 

The Iranian under-age and youth national chess team opened the 27th Asian Youth Chess Championships 2025 in Thailand today, Friday, November 21, with three medals.
