Iranian Girl Strikes Second Gold at World Taekwondo Junior Championships
WANA (Apr 14) – Hana Zarin Kamar has secured a brilliant gold medal for Iran after defeating her Czech opponent in the finals of the 15th World Taekwondo Junior Championships.
The prestigious tournament continued on Tuesday at the Tashkent Olympic Sports Complex, where Zarin Kamar, representing the Iranian girls’ national team in the +68kg heavyweight division, dominated the mats to climb the podium.
Path to the Podium
Zarin Kamar’s journey to the gold was a masterclass in precision and skill, as she did not drop a single set throughout her matches:
Opening Rounds: She began her campaign with a 2-0 victory over Greece, followed by another clinical 2-0 win against the Netherlands.
Quarterfinals: She advanced comfortably by defeating the representative from Tunisia with a score of 2-0.
Semifinals & Final: After overcoming a tough opponent from Croatia in the semifinals, she faced Binova from the Czech Republic in the championship bout. Zarin Kamar secured a 2-0 victory in the final to claim the first gold for the Iranian girls’ squad at this edition of the games.
Iranian Success in Tashkent
This victory marks the second gold medal for Iran in the competition. On Monday, Mohammad Erfan Khodaei earned the country’s first gold in the boys’ -55kg weight class.
With Zarin Kamar’s triumph, the Iranian delegation continues its strong performance at the 15th World Taekwondo Junior Championships, showcasing the depth of talent in the nation’s youth program.
