Iranian Intelligence Ministry’s Achievements in the 12-Day War
WANA ( Jul 21) – Iran’s Minister of Intelligence, Hojjatoleslam Esmail Khatib, said the Ministry has achieved significant milestones in safeguarding national security, thwarting espionage efforts, and obtaining key intelligence documents from Israel during the recent 12-day conflict.
Speaking about the Ministry’s role during the war, Khatib stated, “Thanks to God and the efforts of the anonymous soldiers of Imam Mahdi (Iran’s Intelligence forces), the Ministry of Intelligence made every effort to ensure internal security during this imposed war launched by the Zionist regime and the United States, which ultimately ended in victory for the Iranian people and armed forces.”
He noted that close coordination among the Ministry of Intelligence, the police, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), other military units, and the Interior Ministry contributed to maintaining stability across the country.
“While our enemies had planned to provoke domestic unrest, create social and security crises, and even carry out terrorist operations, all such plots were foiled, and the perpetrators were arrested,” Khatib revealed. “This widespread stability across provinces is one of the Ministry’s major accomplishments.”
He highlighted that these achievements stemmed from months of coordinated efforts among various intelligence and security forces, citing the “Amir al-Mu’minin” military drills as a prime example of effective national readiness.
The Minister also disclosed that Iran had succeeded in acquiring important documents and intelligence from the Zionist regime. “These materials provided us with detailed insight into their critical targets, and this information has been shared with our armed forces,” he said.
Addressing the issue of espionage, Khatib explained that combating infiltration and spying remains a daily and ongoing priority due to the presence of more than 50 foreign intelligence services actively operating with Iran-related missions.
“Thanks to the cooperation among the Ministry of Intelligence, the IRGC Intelligence Organization, and other national agencies, along with support from the judiciary, we have achieved considerable success in countering these threats,” he said, expressing appreciation for the judiciary’s role in reinforcing these efforts.
In conclusion, Khatib warned against enemy attempts—led by the United States and Israel—to disrupt national unity. “We must remain vigilant and not allow ourselves to be drawn into polarization, divisions, or extremist behaviors under any circumstances. Preserving the national cohesion we have achieved is crucial,” he emphasized.
