Iranian Lawmaker to Trump: ‘You Threaten, We Act’
WANA (Jun 22) – The Chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee issued a rebuke to U.S. President Donald Trump over his recent threats regarding the Strait of Hormuz, asserting that the strategic waterway is under Iranian sovereignty.
Writing on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Ebrahim Azizi addressed the U.S. President directly, stating, “You threaten, we act. The Strait of Hormuz is neither your personal casino nor the backyard of modern pirates. These are the national waters of Iran, and the ultimate decision-makers here are the brave people of Iran and its courageous armed forces.”
Violations During Switzerland Talks
The lawmaker’s response follows remarks made by Trump during the ongoing Swiss diplomatic talks. Contradictory Signals from Washington
The escalation highlights deep rhetorical contradictions within the American administration. While Trump issued the public warning, J.D. Vance—the head of the U.S. delegation at the Swiss summit—had previously claimed that Trump had explicitly mandated the American team to guarantee a comprehensive ceasefire across the region.
