WANA (Jun 08) – Iran has utilized only a fraction of its advanced missile capabilities in recent operations and maintains highly disruptive strategic options that remain unrevealed, a senior Iranian lawmaker stated in a comprehensive review of the country’s defense posture.

Alaeddin Boroujerdi, a member of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, asserted that the missiles deployed in recent engagements represent only a new iteration of Iran’s arsenal.

He warned that a full understanding of Tehran’s undisclosed military capabilities would fundamentally alter the enemy’s strategic calculations, noting that Iran possesses the specific targeted capacity to severely disrupt daily life across the Israeli regime’s territory.

Highlighting the Israeli regime’s lack of strategic depth, Boroujerdi stated that any large-scale, coordinated strike would inevitably inflict catastrophic vulnerability upon it.

Call to Persian Gulf States and Shipping Restrictions

The lawmaker directed a sharp warning toward neighboring Arab states in the Persian Gulf, urging them to exert diplomatic and political pressure on foreign actors operating from their territories.

“If the Persian Gulf countries wish to prevent a repetition of past incidents and halt the expansion of war, they must pressure the parties that utilize their facilities and infrastructure,” Boroujerdi stated, warning that failure to do so would lead to severe regional repercussions.

Turning to maritime logistics, Boroujerdi confirmed that the Strait of Hormuz has been closed following recent military aggression, describing Tehran’s current approach as an active, “intelligent management” of the waterway.

He emphasized that Iran would not tolerate an asymmetric economic environment in the corridor. “The scenario where Iranian oil cannot be exported while the oil exports of others continue uninterrupted is completely unacceptable,” he noted, reiterating that Tehran views the ongoing maritime blockade as an illegal U.S. action that will be actively countered.

Yemeni Alignment and Warnings to Washington

The parliamentary member also pointed to the strategic entry of Yemeni forces into the active theater as a critical component of the current escalation.

He noted that Yemen’s operations are aligned in solidarity against the Israeli regime and are directly conditioned upon the immediate lifting of the blockade imposed on Iran.

Concluding his remarks, Boroujerdi advised the United States administration to adopt a more rational approach toward the crisis. He reminded Western powers of Iran’s resilience during the eight-year Iran-Iraq war, as well as its successes in subsequent regional conflicts, asserting that should a wider war break out, Iran would secure the definitive victory.
