Iranian-Made Generator Module Slashes Costs by Two-Thirds
WANA (Nov 17) – An Iranian knowledge-based company has successfully developed a domestically produced generator control module to manage, protect, and ensure the quality of generator output voltage. According to the company, one of the main competitive advantages of this product is its cost, approximately one-third of similar foreign models.
Reza Alizadeh, head of tenders at the company, described the system as a control module for generator monitoring and protection. “It regulates the initial current required for electricity production and manages the generator’s control systems, ensuring grid stability and proper output voltage quality,” he said.
He added that the module has already been installed in various industries, including power plants, refineries, petrochemical complexes, steel and copper industries, and other mineral sectors, achieving successful results across multiple projects.
Highlighting collaboration with the Shazand Arak Power Plant, Alizadeh noted, “For the first time, a special design based on water-cooled systems was implemented in this project. The module was integrated into the unit without any issues and received full approval from the client.”
According to the Presidential Office’s Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology, Alizadeh explained the economic advantages of the product: “Compared to foreign models priced at around $200,000, this module is produced at $60,000–$70,000, potentially saving the country up to $2 million in foreign currency annually.”
Alizadeh emphasized that while the system is primarily used in power plants, it can be installed in any industry that relies on generators.
